Outlook inbox is not updating 0x00040820

It has come to our attention that many Outlook 2013 and Office 365 users are having issues within synchronizing IMAP folders recently. This appears to be happening across all hosts due to a recent update that Microsoft has pushed out to all of its users. When the data file has reached the excess of users' allocated space, I always encourage them to archive by year.I might have a problem with my Offline Address Book in Outlook.

When Outlook is starting to fuss, one of the first things I do is run against each PST file used within Outlook. It has to back up your data file, scan for errors, and repair any errors found. In that case, you can completely reset it by deleting the files making up the OAB or by recreating your mail profile.Rather than waiting 24 hours for Outlook to update the Offline Address Book on its own, you can force an update via the Send/Receive menu button.(Its location will depend upon the version of Windows being used.) Although not really a troubleshooting tip per se, there are times when a PST file will grow so large it causes problems with Outlook.Instead of letting that PST continue to get unwieldy, it's best to set up archiving.
